Topics of interest from our professional team

Here at NACE Schools, we want to make sure that our community of parents, pupils and ex-pupils is kept up to date with the news from each one of our schools as well as the most important topics being discussed in the educational world. To give you an insight into the topics which matter to us, we have summed up some of the issues that our team of professionals has been talking about:

Love and firmness: the foundation for good education
Education begins at home. Ana Díaz Berbel, Educational Psychologist and Family Mediator at Agora Lledó International School, explains how good education (both at school and at home) should be based on the equilibrium between “love” and “firmness”, a consistency in rules and behaviour complemented by love, care and support. She examines the ways in which parents can achieve this sense of balance which is so important for children and their development.

Twenty-First Century Education
In line with the NACE Schools’ global outlook, Luis Madrid Giménez, Headmaster of Agora Lledó International School, examines the style of education needed to prepare our students to be citizens of the world. He observes that an education fit for pupils of today should incorporate an awareness of their own and others’ culture and language, stimulate a sense of discovery and pleasure in learning, as well as teach them how to apply their broad knowledge of various subjects to a local and international context.

Technology in the classroom: the necessary rigour to make it work
Here at NACE, we integrate the newest technologies into every aspect of the curriculum to boost children’s learning and offer them new ways to work with information. In the face of incorporating technology into the classroom, Ignacio Hornedo, Operations and Technology Director at NACE, explores the challenges involved for the entire school community. This is much more than just ensuring that we have the correct equipment. The use of technologies means offering pupils and teachers a way to store and use information, as well as access digital content (books, websites, etc.) in order to validate the value of this technology. High-quality training is also vital to ensure that members of staff can incorporate these tools not only as support in educational development, but as a fundamental part of the teaching and learning process.

Audiovisual Communication and Language Learning
Our focus on language learning and immersion at NACE Schools prepares our students for an international degree, and career. Luis Madrid Giménez, Headmaster of Agora Lledó International School, examines the importance of displaying this language to pupils in a “natural” way, as a language of communication which connects them to a community. Through audiovisual materials such as films, websites and social media, pupils appreciate the need to speak and understand this language in everyday life, and benefit from the visual and auditory nature of the stimulus for enhanced learning.
