Following the values of consistency and commitment which characterise our educational group, pupils at Agora Sant Cugat International School have collaborated on a charity project based on the story “You can too”, by writer Anna Llauradó. Just like the robin in the story, each pupil has participated, “drop by drop”, in this charity project.
The essence of “You can too” is found in participatory education. An understanding of the world which surrounds them is essential for children to learn and understand that inequalities can be changed. Through this project, pupils have contributed to charitable causes, understanding and connecting with children in situations of inequality.
With one euro a month, the students have made two charity projects a reality: the construction of a small school for children in the Bamba Project Charity Orphanage in Kenya, and the provision of food for the Cáritas Community Kitchen in Sant Cugat del Vallés.
This rewarding experience has been captured in the documentary “You can too”, in which every pupil has contributed their “drop”. The aim is to increase international awareness of the documentary to show that when we combine the small efforts of each person, it is possible to reduce social differences.
Agora Sant Cugat International School has set an example for others to follow. As the first centre to participate in this project, the school has reaffirmed its pioneering and innovative spirit.
At the NACE Schools Educational Centres, we promote education for peace, based on living and experiencing the values of justice, solidarity and democracy. We promote commitment, respect and love for others, for a better future.
